Exploring Engineering: Robotics Academy

Robotics demonstration

July 21-25, 2025

Program Cost: $100
This program is not eligible for the On-Campus Accommodations Experience and is a day program, Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Are you fascinated by the incredible machines and robots that shape our world? Do you ever wonder how robots like Spot from Boston Dynamics are designed to move, sense their surroundings, and complete complex tasks? Have you thought about what powers robotic arms in factories, or how autonomous robots navigate challenging environments? Do you want to learn how engineers create intelligent systems that interact with humans and adapt to the world around them? This program will explore the fundamentals of robotics and engineering, giving you the knowledge and skills to design innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

This session will offer an introductory experience in robotics, especially for those interested in participating in FIRST or VEX programming in the future!

Requirements:

  • Must be entering 6-8th grades for the 2025-26 academic year.
  • No prior robotics or coding experience needed.

This program is supported financially through grant funding from the Henry Luce Foundation to the University of New HavenÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Women in Engineering program.
