This course explores issues of social identity, social and cultural diversity, and societal manifestations of oppression as they relate to the workplace. Workforce demographics are rapidly evolving due to changes in birth rates, immigration, legal systems, social attitudes, and economic expansion. Managing businesses and other organizations will require not just contemporary knowledge and technology but the expertise to manage increasing workforce diversity.
Covers the principles of managing the growth phase of a sustainable entrepreneurial business. The main challenge for the entrepreneur is to build an organization capable of sustainable innovation and growth and ensuring that the organization is capable of sustaining this growth in the face of increased market opportunities and competitive threats.
This course highlights the strategic role of compensation in attracting, motivating and retaining high quality workforce. It provides an overview of the key components of a compensation system and describes the way compensation objectives are linked to the business strategy. Students taking this course will gain the theoretical and practical knowledge to design, administer, and evaluate compensation systems.
