About Beth

Beth has been teaching laboratory science since 2015 and joined the University of New Haven MLS program as a Lecturer and Clinical Coordinator in 2021. She assumed the role of Program Director as of Fall 2023 for both the BS and MS MLS programs. She has been working in the field of clinical laboratory medicine for over 12 years, specializing in hematology, coagulation, hemostasis, urinalysis, and flow cytometry testing. She currently teaches Hematology; Coagulation, Hemostasis, and Urinalysis; Phlebotomy and Specimen Processing; Clinical Seminar; and directs the Capstone Project courses for both the undergrad and graduate programs.

Beth is a passionate advocate for the clinical laboratory, dedicated to educating the next generation of medical laboratory scientists. The field continues to be critically understaffed, and burnout and job satisfaction issues are key concerns for everyone. Resolving these issues requires the continued efforts of all within the field towards raising professional visibility and public understanding of the importance of the laboratory as a vital part of the healthcare team. Beth is an active member of both the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Scientists (ASCLS) and American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). She presented at the ASCLS Clinical Laboratory EducatorÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Conference in Feb. 2021, and served on the Virtual Learning Steering Committee (VLSC-ASCLS) from 2020-2022. She recently accepted the invitation to serve on the ASCP Board of Certification's Hematology Exam Committee.
