Dr. Holzer is the Chair of the Department of Population Health & Leadership. She completed her Ph.D. in health policy and bioethics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, her M.A. in bioethics at Case Western Reserve University, and her B.A. at Wellesley College, majoring in biology and philosophy. She is broadly interested in health equity and community well-being, specifically in the areas of active transportation and maternal health. She is an expert in community-based participatory research approaches. Her most recent work on maternal morbidities in the postpartum period has received awards and recognition from the American Public Health Association.
Dr. Holzer is the co-founder and a board member of , a non-profit providing evidence to support maternal decisions across the maternal experience.
