About Kei
Before arriving at the University of New Haven, Kei worked as both a Physician Assistant and a Curriculum Developer for numerous NGOS in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Working abroad for many years in many different settings has given Kei a wide range of experiences working with international students, faculty and organizations.
Kei's primary academic interests are in both health care and linguistics. Kei has done research in developing new treatment modalities for neonates using Extra Corporal Membrane Oxygenation. Kei's research in second language acquisition primarily focuses on Cognitive models, the focus on explaining learner-internal mechanisms, and how they interfere with input in order to give rise to learning.
