About Lisa
Lisa Ragaza holds a Master of Science degree in Forensic Science from the University of New Haven and a Bachelor of Science degree in Archaeology and Geological Sciences from Tufts University. She is a certified footwear examiner through the International Association for Identification (IAI) and a certified instructor in Crime Scene Processing and Criminalistics through the State of Connecticut Police Officers Standards and Training Council. She has served in the positions of Vice President and President of the Connecticut State chapter of the International Association for Identification (IAI) and is a member of the Footwear and Tire Track Subcommittee and Student Advocacy Committee of the IAI. She is also active in the Organization of Scientific Area Committees and the Academy Standards Board in the footwear and tire track discipline.
Lisa was employed by the Waterbury Police Department as a Crime Scene Technician where she processed hundreds of crime scenes ranging from burglaries to homicides. Lisa is currently employed with the State of Connecticut in the Division of Scientific Services in the Firearms Unit. She is proficient in footwear, tire track and imprint examinations, firearm examinations, serial number restoration, and microscopic comparisons of firearms evidence, and was previously proficient in handwriting and signature comparisons, and questioned documents. She is also an Associate Professor at Post University in Waterbury, CT where she teaches Introduction to Forensic Science and an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of New Haven where she teaches Firearms Evidence Analysis.
