Professor Dragan retired as a Special Agent with the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) in September 2024. Up until December 2020, he was a Special Agent with the Internal Revenue Service ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ“ Criminal Investigation for 17 years. During that time, Professor Dragan was assigned to the FBIÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Joint Terrorism Task Force in New Haven Connecticut where he served for 13 years. Professor Dragan was also the Use of Force Coordinator for the Boston Field Office (New England) where he trained IRS-CI Special Agents in Use of Force, Team Tactics, Weaponless Tactics, and was a member of the Rifle Cadre.
During his tenure at IRS-CI, Professor Dragan conducted numerous criminal tax investigations, as well as international money laundering and other financial fraud investigations. At the JTTF, Professor Dragan worked many counterterrorism investigations and counter-threat finance (Terrorist Finance) investigations. Additionally, Professor Dragan worked other National Security investigations related to counterintelligence and sovereign citizen groups. At TIGTA, Professor Dragan investigated large-scale financial fraud, internal employee misconduct and security, and threats to IRS infrastructure.
Professor Dragan earned a BachelorÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Degree in Criminal Justice ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ“ Law Enforcement Science (ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ˜92) and a MasterÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Degree in Forensic Science ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ“ Advanced Investigation (ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ˜94), both from the University of New Haven. Professor Dragan has earned the black belt degree of Godan, 5th degree Master and teaches karate at the dojo he attends.
