About William
Tony Whitledge, a former Department of Justice attorney and former head of IRS Criminal Investigation DivisionÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Electronic Crimes Program, has over twenty-five yearsÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™ experience in law enforcement technology, computer crime investigations, and the use of digital evidence in civil and criminal litigation. Through Whitledge & Company LLC, he consults on information technology issues and provides a full range of digital evidence analysis, computer and mobile phone forensics, ediscovery, and litigation support services. He has testified as an expert witness, served as a court-appointed expert in a case requiring forensic analysis, expert testimony and evaluation of the partiesÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™ technical witnessesÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™ testimony, and as an assistant for e-discovery matters to a Special Master in a patent infringement law suit in federal court.
Tony has planned and designed computer forensics laboratories for law enforcement agencies. While the head of the IRS CID Electronic Crimes Program he planned and oversaw the design and construction of the programÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s laboratory. After retirement and under a contract with the United States Secret Service, Tony assisted the Secret Service Electronic Special Agent Program plan and design the Secret Service cell phone laboratory in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the National Computer Forensic Institute facility in Hoover, Alabama.
Mr. Whitledge has taught and lectured extensively on digital evidence, discovery in civil litigation, computer forensics, and investigating and prosecuting high-tech crimes. For the past eight years he has been a primary instructor at a series of week-long courses teaching digital forensics to prosecutors and judges at the National Computer Forensics Institute in Hoover, Alabama.
He is member of the Indiana Bar and of the American Bar AssociationÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Section on Taxation and the Section of Science and Technology LawÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ™s Committee on Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence. He is also a Certified Cyber Forensic Professional.
