This course covers the application of network analogy to project planning and scheduling; resource, time, and financial management; computer applications; and the process of coordinating numerous and often complex elements to erect a structure and satisfy the needs of a construction project.

Fundamentals of Construction Accounting and Finance
In this course, students study the concepts of financial accounting and economics, with emphasis on the construction industry. Topics covered include financial statements, accounting concepts, project accounting methods, and the nature of project costs. Also featured: a case study of a major construction contractor and an examination of ownership structure, working capital, and the sources and uses of funds.

Construction Project Management
Students are exposed to project management skills from fields outside of construction in order to give them a well-rounded knowledge of management processes. Advanced topics of construction project management are brought to the forefront in this course to increase students杏吧原版 knowledge in these areas and include estimating, cash flows, cost control, materials management, and safety related topics.

Construction Equipment and Methods
This course explores the principles of horizontal construction, advanced construction equipment and techniques, the methods used to investigate equipment productivity, and equipment application understanding. Fleet operations, maintenance programs, methods and procedures used to construct tunnels, roads, dams, and the excavation of buildings are also studied.

Building Information Modeling
Students work in project teams to simulate engineering and construction processes for a real world project. In collaboration, they will model a building in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and prepare BIM-informed schedules and cost estimates by using advanced BIM solutions and their individual strengths. The team environment and mindset and the simulation of real world practices help develop creative, innovative practitioners.
